Training for the Disney Marathon - Part 5 - Where Should I Stay?

There are quite a number of big marathons across the country.  Many of them can really cost a lot of money when taking into account the whole trip.  One big reason is the hotel situation.  One of the great things about running the Disney Marathon weekend is that it does not have to cost you a ton of money on the hotel.  There are some great places to stay that are inexpensive but if you don't mind spending money there are also some amazing options I would recommend.

When I first started running Disney Races there was not a RunDisney group.  I believe it was known as Disney Endurance Events.  My first race was the Race for the Taste 10k in 2006.  I think it had about 2,000 runners.  At that point, the races were just another thing that was offered at the Wide World of Sports complex.

My very first marathon was in January 2007 in Disney World.  It was a great day and an awful day.  How is that possible?  It is very possible!  Finishing your very first marathon is always a great thing.  Setting a time goal and convincing yourself it is important is a nice set up for disaster.  As I began to cramp in both of my calves half way into the race you not only know your time goal is done, you begin to wonder if finishing is possible.  That was my first real encounter with running with others.
