Where to Run: Top 10 Marathon Bucket List - #10: LA Marathon

"From stadium to sea," the tagline of the LA Marathon hints at the course start and finish for the race coming in at #10 in our "Where to Run: Top 10 Marathon" countdown. Starting at Dodgers Stadium and finishing at Santa Monica Beach, the Asics LA Marathon attracts runners from across the country. If you are looking for a race to help you see a major city with all of its sights and landmarks then this is the race for you.

  • Capital Records Tower

Date/Race Schedule:

  • February 14th, 2016
  • 6:50AM- Wheelchair start
  • 6:55AM- Handcycle start
  • 7:05AM- Elite Women
  • 7:25AM- Elite Men & Full Field 

Pace Teams:

  • 3:05, 3:15, 3:25, 3:35, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00, 5:30

  • One great feature of this marathon is that you can meet your pace leader at the expo

Expo:

  • Location: Los Angeles Convention Center 
  • Times: Friday, February 12: 10AM-7AM; Saturday, February 13: 9AM-5PM

Cost/Weather:

  • Registration Opens September 1st
  • Full Maraton Cost: $160 (on Sept. 1st)
  • The weather for the LA Marathon is ideal as conditions average in the High 60s/Lo 40s
